B2 is the level you need to study at a Norwegian university or college, and to work as a health worker or nurse in Norway. You can understand complex texts, take part in conversations with natural and fluent language, and write texts where you give your own arguments.

About the course
B2 level requirements:
- You need the B2 level in writing and speaking to start a Norwegian-language study programme at a Norwegian university or college.
- You also need Norwegian skills at B2 or higher if you want to work as a health worker or nurse in Norway.
The main difference between B1 and B2:
B1 is the level you need to manage in everyday life. B2 is the level you need to study at a university or college. At the B2 level, you are expected to use the language with more control and in a more natural way, and to handle a wider range of texts.
Requirements to join: Basic Norwegian skills at the B1 level.

At the B2 level, you can:
- Understand the main content of complex or academic texts
- Understand professional discussions in your own field
- Take part in conversations with fairly natural and fluent language
- Write clear, detailed texts where you give your own arguments on a wide range of topics
- Use the language with more control and in a more natural way
- Handle a wider range of texts
Level assessment
Our assessment is:
- A candidate who gets the grade A at level 3 will have a level that matches CEFR level C1
- A candidate who gets the grade C at level 3 will have a level that matches B2
- A candidate who gets the grade A at level 2 will have a level that matches CEFR level B2
- A candidate who gets the grade C at level 2 will have a level that matches B1
