At level B1, you can understand clear and fairly simple language. You can speak clearly and connect your ideas about topics linked to your own life, training, and work, about common topics in society, and about topics you are interested in. You can also take part in most conversations without preparing first, if the other person speaks clearly.

B1 – part 1 and 2: This course continues your Norwegian training, with a focus on using the language on your own. The course is practical and looks at how to use the language in normal everyday situations.

Trade certificate requirement: B1 is the level required for people who want to take a trade certificate (fagbrev).

The Norwegian test: When you finish B1 part 1 and part 2, you will have enough knowledge to pass the Norwegian B1 test (Norskprøven B1).
